Learn to sew by making a lined tote bag! This class is intended for students who have little to no sewing machine experience but know how to thread a machine and bobbin.
"Make a Lined Tote Bag"
3 hours - $35 (including $5 materials fee)
You know how a sewing machine works and you're ready to take on your first projects! In this class students will begin the adventure of working with patterns and seam allowance by applying the skills covered in "Sewing Machine Basics". The instructor will supply a paper pattern and instructions for students to keep. Students are required to provide 1 yard of WOVEN fashion fabric and one yard WOVEN cotton lining. Skills developed in this class include: further sewing terminology, working with a paper pattern, modifying a paper pattern, working with seam allowance, turning corners, bagging out a lining, top stitching, sewing for durability and strength and introduction to the concepts of 3D sewing. Students are encouraged to bring their personal sewing machine as long as the machine is in proper working order. This class is intended for students who have some sewing machine experience and know how to thread a machine and bobbin as well as back stitching.
